Aviation entries.
PPL progress, radio work, lessons learned, and the occasional flight plan.
And here comes the long-awaited day - I received my PPL licence
The day I prepared for so long is finally here. What an incredible feeling to finally hold my licence in my hands!
Where exactly are we? (Asking for a friend)
From the air, every village looks the same. Here is how I learned to find my way with a map, a clock and a lot of looking out of the window.
Eleven subjects, many questions and a lot of coffee
Before you are allowed to take the skill test, you have to learn a lot on the ground. Here is how I got through the PPL theory and the exam.
Engine failure! (Don't worry, it's just practice)
What happens when the engine stops? In training we practise exactly that, again and again, until the right actions come almost by themselves.
Flying from the sofa (and yes, it counts)
Eyes closed, hands in the air, talking to an imaginary tower. It looks a bit silly, but chair flying became one of my best training tools.
Solo flying during education and the incredible feeling behind it
Halfway through training, you fly your first solo. A very special moment and one that matters more than you'd expect.
Say again (a bit slower please)
Flight by flight, the tower became mine to talk to — but at the start, that was anything but easy…
Ah yes, the plane looks good to fly... sure?
Before every flight you walk around the plane and check every movable and static part, to be sure: yes, this plane is flyable and safe! But how is this done? Here is how I do it.
Takeoff briefing completed - ready for departure
An incredible moment getting ready for my first flight and also the start of this blog journey.
